Our Origin

We can’t tell you the story of Bolter without first telling you the story of Clifford Gouldson Lawyers…

It all began in the country town of Toowoomba, Queensland in the early 2000’s with two young lawyers, Danny Clifford and Ben Gouldson, determined to establish a new style of law firm that focused solely on servicing businesses, CGLaw was born.

As the firm expanded, they needed to bring in someone who could offer clients a practical edge in property and commercial transactions. In 2011, Amanda Tolson joined the team as a young and extremely talented lawyer offering extensive commercial and property experience with a level of practicality unmatched in Queensland.

From that point on, CGLaw provided businesses and clients with a wide range of legal services covering intellectual property, workplace law, litigation and dispute resolution, tax, structures and planning,  commercial and property law, and construction law.  Flashforward to today and the CGLaw family comprises over 30 highly talented and personable team members who truly value their relationships with clients and the wider community.

So, what was next for CGLaw? Recognising the unique needs and legal challenges of small businesses and startups during their critical first year in business, CGLaw decided to bring together a dedicated group of lawyers to work with these businesses – backed by the CGLaw brand and its exceptional business related legal services and broader team.

The Bolter team are here to make waves by focusing on you and your business – to challenge traditions through innovative approaches and product offerings, and guiding you as you take your first steps on the exciting road ahead in business.
